Principals Message
As we hoist our sails and set course for a new academic voyage, I want to welcome you to MCA! Just like the fearless and adventurous buccaneers of old, our students will chart a course of discovery, learning, and camaraderie throughout the year. Our Milford mascot embodies the spirit of resilience, determination, and unity that our school community holds dear.
At MCA, we understand that clear communication is key to a successful partnership between home and school. We will continue to use "Talking Points" to facilitate seamless communication between teachers, parents, and guardians. This user-friendly tool allows you to stay informed about classroom updates, assignments, and your child's progress, ensuring that you are always in the loop.
Communicating your child’s academic journey will also include a return to progress reports midway through each marking period. These reports will provide a snapshot of your child's progression through subject-area content, allowing for a deeper understanding of their achievements and areas of growth. Our mid-marking period and report card distribution dates can be found on the District Calendar. In between reports, please log in to Home Access Center (HAC) to view your child’s assignment grades and an average of their progress in each subject area.
We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing space for every student to flourish academically and personally. In addition to our School Counselors for each grade level, we have Mental Health professionals from People’s Place and Children and Families First on-site during our school days. We also have a Student-Family Interventionist to provide assistance to your family as well. MCA staff also includes a School Constable, and a valuable partnership with MPD through our School Resource Officer. Health and safety remain a top priority, and we will continue to ensure a secure and comfortable environment for all.
As we set sail on this new chapter, please remember that your active involvement in your child's education is vital to their success. Attend parent-teacher conferences which are returning this year, engage with teachers through Talking Points, join a virtual PTP meeting, and participate in school events to create a strong partnership that fosters a supportive learning environment. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are excited to embark on this exciting journey as we Chart the Course to Excellence in the Milford School District.
